XVI Congress of Women. „Dining on despair” with Magdalena Gałkiewicz
We invite you to the screening of our report Dining on despair and a discussion on September 28, 2024 (Saturday), from 7:00 PM to 8:20 PM, as part of the XVI Congress of Women (Press Room).
The guest of the debate will be Magdalena Gałkiewicz, City Councilor of Łódź. Magdalena Gałkiewicz is a vegan, ecofeminist, and activist for human rights, animal rights, and environmental protection. She graduated in Romance Philology and Applied Informatics at the University of Łódź, as well as Environmental Protection Law at the University of Wrocław. She is also a graduate of the 27th School of Political Leaders. Gałkiewicz is the National Secretary of the Green Party and the leader of the Green Party’s Łódź structures. She is a co-founder and board member of the Łódzkie Dziewuchy Dziewuchom Association and has co-organized large-scale women’s rights marches since 2016. She is also a volunteer at the Viva! International Animal Rights Movement Foundation. In 2021, she was honored for her contributions to the City of Łódź. Gałkiewicz is a member of the civic legislative initiative committees for Save Women, Secular State Project, and Legal Abortion Without Compromise.
The discussion will be moderated by Anna Spurek, Director of the Green REV Institute.
Dining on despair is a documentary produced by the Green REV Institute and the winner of the Green Film Festival’s Best Short Film award in 2024. Produced in 2023 by the Green REV Institute and directed by Marcin Anaszewicz, the film was made possible thanks to Vegan Grants. It is under the honorary patronage of Dr. Sylwia Spurek, Member of the European Parliament (Greens/EFA), with the strategic partnership of the Plant Based Treaty.
