We have received a response to an interpellation that was submitted on the initiative of the Green REV Institute and the Future Food 4 Climate coalition. The interpellation was submitted by a group of Members of the Polish Parliament and concerned factory farms in the context of the Common Agricultural Policy programming. Responses were received from the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Among other things, we can read from them that an obstacle to the provision of a specific number of factory farms in Poland is the lack of a legal definition of the term 'factory farm’ and the diversity of requirements within animal agriculture.

At the same time, it was pointed out that in the current legal situation there is no legal definition of the term „animal welfare” and that Poland, as a member of the World Organisation for Animal Health, bases its work on the guiding principles including the so-called „Five Freedoms”.
