Denmark – national plan for plant-based food

6 listopada 2023

On 13 October, the Danish government announced its action plan on plant-based food. Denmark plans to allocate 1.25 billion kroner (€168 million) to initiatives to strengthen the role of plant-based food in the current food system.

The planned initiatives include the creation of a 100 million Euro Plant Food Fund. Between 2023 and 2030, the Fund will finance activities at a level of €12 million per year. The Board of Directors overseeing the Fund is made up of farmers, the scientific community, civil society organisations, businesses. The aim of the Fund is to support the EU Farm 2 Fork strategy, to promote the consumption of plant-based food, to develop production and to strengthen cooperation in the field.

The plan is currently available in Danish here and an English translation will be available in a few weeks.
