The stench of Europe’s chicken coop. Human rights vs. farms
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna published an article on the work of the Ministry of Climate and Environment on the anti-odor law. Martyna Krystman -Rydlewicz comments on behalf of the Green REV Institute: „Why is the topic important? First of all, because Poland still lacks so-called odor regulations, and the perception of odor nuisance generated in connection with the conduct of business activities of a given type remains such an individual issue that it is difficult to derive fully effective civil law claims on this basis (if only on the basis of the construction of personal property or immission).” In 2022, Dr. Sylwia Spurek and Green REV Institute published the first and only comprehensive White Paper on the livestock sector: Stench, Blood and Tears, pointing out the multidimensional impact of large-scale, industrial animal farms on human rights, the planet and animal protection. Despite numerous interventions and actions, no government has addressed the destructive impact of the animal agriculture sector on human rights.
