The Green REV Institute on 14 August sent a position paper as part of the ongoing European Commission Consultation on EU farm statistics – List of variables and their description for the reference year 2026.

Within the position paper, the Green REV Institute noted:

„The most important objective of the ongoing consultation should be to present a reliable picture of agriculture in the European Union. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to carry out a detailed assessment and identify the specific data to be included in the list. A comprehensive set of data will provide a complete picture of the food production sector, which will enable informed financial interventions and effective shaping of the Common Agricultural Policy. As one of the EU’s most important policies, the Common Agricultural Policy must meet the objectives of guaranteeing access to healthy, sustainable and safe food, protecting the climate and the environment, and ensuring that the transformation of the food system is carried out in a way that is fair to male and female farmers. „
