Animal welfare in the EU – Survey of attitudes

24 października 2023

A new Eurobarometer survey shows that 84% of Europeans and European women believe that the welfare of farmed animals should be better protected in their country than it is today. As many as 60% of those taking part in the survey believe that they could pay more for food products that come from systems where animal welfare is respected. At the same time, 83% of those surveyed support restrictions on the transport of live animals into or out of the European Union.

For the survey, more than 26 000 interviews were conducted in the first half of 2023. In Poland alone, more than 1 000 interviews were conducted.
