Health education starts at the plate

14 maja 2024

The united Ministries of Health, Education and Sports are working on a new core curriculum – health education. We have gathered best practices, expert knowledge, our experiences, facts and data, and together with Future Food 4 Climate partners, we have developed comprehensive recommendations for the heads and heads of the ministry.

„Health education is key to raising the quality of life in Poland, supporting and promoting informed food choices, educating for a sustainable food system. It is an essential investment in future generations, the health care system, and conscious male and female consumers. In the long term, health education will help reduce health care costs and make chronic disease prevention more effective. It also improves the productivity and quality of life of the general public and the quality and implementation of climate policies.

Polish educational institutions should undertake extensive educational activities focused on the impact of food on the quality of life of children and adults in Poland, but also on the condition of the climate and biodiversity. Schools should effectively work on developing healthy eating habits from the earliest years of education. This is an investment in the future, which will contribute to the formation of a more conscious society. Undoubtedly, it is necessary to introduce health education in conjunction with systemic changes in the operation of institutions.”
