On the 6th, the Mayor of Los Angeles signed a document of support for the Plant Treaty, thereby endorsing and including plant-based food as a focal point of US greenhouse gas emissions policy in his Federal Legislative Program for 2021-2022. The Los Angeles Plant Treaty Resolution is available on the Future Food 4 Climate website, under the 'Library’ tab.

As a reminder, the adoption of the Plant Treaty puts food systems at the centre of the fight against the climate crisis. The treaty aims to halt the widespread degradation of key ecosystems caused by animal agriculture, promote a transition to healthier, more sustainable plant-based diets, and actively reverse damage to planetary functions, ecosystem services and biodiversity.
