MP Jolanta Niezgodzka. Premiere & Debate

On February 17, 2024 (Saturday), at 4:00 pm, the New Horizons Cinema in Wroclaw will host the premiere of the reportage „Dining on despair” and a discussion on the right to healthy, safe food and fixing the food system. Parents for the Climate, Green REV Institute, the Future Food 4 Climate coalition and New Horizons Cinema are inviting to the event.

The debate after the premiere will be attended by Jolanta Niezgodzka MP – Member of Parliament of the Republic of Poland of the 10th term, councilor of the City Council of Wroclaw 2018-2023, Chairman of the Board of the Old Town Estate, Vice President of the Lower Silesian Women’s Congress Association. In the Sejm, she works in the committees of Infrastructure, Local Government and Regional Policy and Social Policy and Family. Involved in, among other things: advocacy for women’s rights, LGBT+ rights and environmental protection;

The film is a journey, showing different perspectives: decision-makers, activists, representatives of science and health, and parents. These individuals look at our plates and store shelves, looking for solutions and pointing to legislative and educational measures, as well as raising the issue of the right to access safe, healthy, sustainable, plant-based food in educational institutions.

The featured protagonists are: Member of the European Parliament Dr. Sylwia Spurek (Greens/EFA), Member of Parliament Dorota Loboda, Prof. Piotr Skubala, Councillor of the Białołęka District of the City of Warsaw Filip Pelc. Warsaw Filip Pelc, Marzena Wichniarz, Parents for Future, Szymon Żugaj, activist, Green REV Institute, Anna Żuchniewicz, Rocket Oncology Foundation, Roman Głodowski, President and Founder of Nasz Bóbr Association, Morgan Janowicz, Partnership Coordinator, Green REV Institute. Individuals with different backgrounds, working in different areas, speak boldly about the need to fix the food system, to ambitiously address the issue of food justice, without stereotypes and political storytelling about the right to chop.

The premiere will be followed by a discussion moderated by Miloslava Bożek – a RAM Radio journalist and educator.

The film and discussion will be translated into Polish Sign Language (PJM).
