Poland’s food system is bankrupt – we with it

The publication of the latest Poverty Watch Poland 2023 report coincided with the FAO’s World Food Day celebrations. The report confirms what we all and all know and feel – the right to healthy food has become just a slogan.

The food system is a set of puzzles, covering all the stages and elements involved in the production, processing, distribution, consumption and disposal of food. It consists of various activities and related environmental, social and economic aspects. The Poverty Watch Poland 2023 report leaves no illusions – the current food system denies access to healthy food to the most vulnerable groups: the elderly, children, single parents, families with many children, people in refugee and migration crisis.
